授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students. Overall Objectives 1．To increase their vocabulary 2．To review grammar 3．To develop basic reading skills & strategies 4．To understand how various texts are organized
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Online classes. - Varuiys reading strategies are introduced and practiced in and outside of class   throughou the course. - One main concentration is on classifying information into major points (outline)   and additional details and on understanding the streamline of the passage, while   simply enjoying the contents themselves. - Form/accuracy (vocabulary, collocations, grammar, expressions) is also pursued. - Peer discussions and solo oral outlining are regularly practiced.
