授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The spring course looks at the history of human migration across the globe and will explore immigration as it relates to labor migration, immigration, and transnationalism. The course also distinguishes between terms related to immigration and develops an understanding of the various theories about and types of immigration, by considering the political, social, cultural, global and environmental forces that drive people to leave their home countries and make a home for themselves in foreign lands. Lastly, we will look at a particular case of an immigrant nation: America, and consider the history, policies and paths that led to the growth of this multicultural nation. Students then do their own research on immigration in a country of interest to them for their final poster project. | ||||||||||
