授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
Culture, Games and Play: This course will examine the significance of play and games in our lives and the lives of people around the world. All cultures exhibit some form of play. We use games and play to relax, but also to socialize, to make meaning, to learn and compete and even to negotiate our ideals and values. In this class students will survey examples of games and types of play from around the world, with an emphasis on the sociocultural, economic, and historic dimensions that make games and play such a rich and diverse domain of human experience. Key assignments will include two short essays and a final project in which students design an original game prototype. |
