授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
For students who wish to work in a cross cultural environment in the future, this class is ideal. We will be Reading, Studying and Discussing together a book by a famous author who lives in New York City and who has had several of his books on the New York Times Best Seller Lists. He came to Japan as an Assistant English Teacher in junior and Senior High Schools to study Japanese language and culture for the purpose of writing this book. His cross cultural experiences are both entertaining and educational. Students will learn a lot through this book, through our disussions and through associated movie and video clips. Prepare to enjoy this class! This course is taught in English. |

Students will be required to read and study new vocabulary from set chapters in the book before each class. This is essential in order to get the most benefit from each class. we will have group and pair discussions plus sessions on new vocabulary. The course will also feature short videos relevant to the contents of the set book. |

Evaluations will be made according to Class participation (20%) Homework assignments (20%), and Final Report (60%). Details will be explained by the instructor in the first class. |
