授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The aim of this reading course is to investigate the uniquely Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, and to provide an opportunity for students to discuss it in depth. When we set out to define wabi sabi, it soon becomes clear that there is no one working definition of it. Rather it is a vague concept that (1) originates out of the Japanese mind set; (2) has a place everyday life; and (3) can provide us with a sense of guidance in daily life. Please note the following: 1) this course will be online, utilizing both Manaba & Zoom; 2) you will need to understand Zoom to participate; 3) questions can be asked during class or after class via email; & 4) evaluation: see below. |
