授業の目的?内容
/Course Objectives
A one-semester, online, semi-elective course, where the use of film and its analysis is central to the work
undertaken online & at home.  Further, there will be opportunities for group discussion and presentations allowing the student to improve self-confidence and team work. Such a course will help sharpen the students listening, critical thinking and comprehension skills.  Depending on the
students level, English subtitles (or no subtitles) will be used.
Overall Objectives:
1. To provide the students with an introduction to a range of film genres
2. To expose the student to a range of International accents, regional dialects, non-verbal communication
and colloquial language
3. To enhance the student’s critical thinking through teacher led discussion.

/Before After Study
Read handouts & other material shown in class and complete all assignments before beginning of the
following class. After class, students are required to do all homework tasks set. Students can expect to
spend about 90 minutes per week in preparation.  It is important that the student has a home pc and wifi connection as some of this course will be conducted over Zoom Meetings.

1 Course Introduction Activities The Course Content, Rules & Assessment will be explained, as well as self Introductions on Zoom.
2 Introduction of 1st Film & commencement of viewing 1st Film: 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Pre-Watching, Watching & Post-Watching Tasks.
3 Complete viewing & follow-up class discussion There will be an assignment comprehension check followed up by a class discussion on Zoom.
4 Introduction & commencement of 2nd Film 2nd Film: 'About Time'. Pre-Watching, Watching & Post-Watching Tasks given.
5 Complete viewing & follow-up class discussion There will be an assignment comprehension check followed up by a class discussion on Zoom.
6 2nd Film Script Workshop Students will explore sections of the 2nd Film’s Script from the standpoint of an actor.
7 Mid-Term Assignment: A Profile of an Actor or Film The Mid-Term Assignment will be introduced & the students will discuss ideas on Zoom.
8 Introduction & commencement of 3rd Film 3rd Film: 'Yesterday'.  Pre-Watching, Watching & Post-Watching Tasks given.
9 Complete viewing & follow-up class discussion There will be comprehension check/discussion on Zoom. Mid-Term Assignment submitted.
10 Final task introduction & preparation The Final Task of the Semester will be introduced & explained either by document or on Zoom.  
11 Final task presentations Students will present their Final Task to the class & their teacher via Zoom.
12 Course wrap up: feedback & written submissions Students receive feedback on their Final Tasks from each other & their teacher on Zoom.
