授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	「英語 III (W)」に引き続き，実質的なエッセイライティングを学ぶ．1パラグラフ内の論理構成の技術をもとに，複数パラグラフによる文章構成法?変化の記述?原因-結果?説得?分類?対立意見の表現などの内容構成法におけるレポートやリサーチペーパー作成のための練習を行う．さらに外部資料の引用方法並びに書誌事項の表現方法を学ぶ．このほか随時正書法上の重要事項を学習する．Provides opportunities to develop fundamental understanding and use of paragraph writing.  Students are expected to apply principles of paragraph writing to various topics such as defining, classifying, ordering, comparing, contrasting, and stating causal relations.  They also learn citation and formatting of bibliography.  Orthographical skills are also taught.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	In this class we ... (1) use Manaba (LMS) for presenting learning materials, collecting assignments, and giving feedback. (2) periodically use Zoom or Webex to conduct bi-directional real-time classes. (3) provide opportunities of exchanging opinions among students by introducing group work and peer reviews of oral/written products (4) aim at higher learning efficiency by utilising learning materials distributed in advance in combination with real-time classes.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	各回とも十分な予習?復習を必要とする．また，課題は必ず期限までに提出しなければならない．Requires sufficient review and preview of each class.  Assignments must be submitted before the deadline. 授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意欄追加 The class is taught/participated in English as a major means of communication.  The students are expected to type written assignments.  Students must keep a portfolio for reflective learning.  See a separate document for assignments.
