授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
講義はすべて英語で行います。TOEIC 700、TOEFL(IBT) 71、英検準一級程度以上の英語力を必要とします。 This course is designed to acquaint students with various aspects of Japanese culture through the study of traditional legends, tales and myths. Each topic will be introduced through imagery and will include a lecture, readings and related discussions. Course Objectives: ?To learn and discuss a broad variety of traditional Japanese legends, tales and myths ?To learn and discuss the socio-cultural context from which these legends/tales/myths emerged ?To learn and discuss the expression of these legends/tales /myths in the context of performance, ritual, and art ?To learn and discuss how this selection of legends/tales/myths reflect the history, traditions, mores, world-view and character of the Japanese people |

Classes will be held entirely online, with PowerPoint-assisted lectures delivered live (real-time) via Zoom during the regularly-scheduled class hours (Tuesdays, 3rd period). Live (English) captioning of the (English-language) lectures will be provided. Some content will be presented through film, including YouTube video. | ||||||||||
