授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This course aims to develop students’ ability to comprehend academically-oriented lectures, in addition to interviews and discussions, from a variety of different fields. In order to accomplish this, students will build their academic vocabulary, practice effective note-taking strategies, learn about how lectures are typically organized, and develop their critical thinking skills. | ||||||||||

In addition to actually listening to various lectures, interviews, and discussions, pre- and post-listening activities such as group and pairwork, short presentations, and writing assignments will also be undertaken. All class activities will be conducted in English, and students will be expected to participate actively. Both real-time and on-demand classes will be given, the former with Zoom, and the latter using MyDOC. | ||||||||||

Before class, students will be expected to prepare for discussions and other activities. After class, they will be asked to reflect on what they learned in class and write summaries of or reactions to the material. | ||||||||||
