授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution This course will focus on two forms of discussion and conversation skills; academic (for the classroom and school activities that will be applicable in later courses) and casual/formal (for generalized English communication) |

This class will be conducted in English, and students are expected to speak in English with the instructor and with their classmates during the class time period. This course will be conducted in 2 different ways (once a week - the class will be face to face in classroom environment and once a week online learning) The face to face class will be completely active and interactive and focused on discussion, roleplaying, conversation skills practice and etc.. In the online class, students will prepare materials for the face to face class, be presented with new information via reading and lecture videos, as well as listening and written activities. |

Most of the activities will be conducted within the 100-minute class period. When homework is assigned, students are expected to complete it fully by the deadline. | ||||||||||
