授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This is a one-semester-long required course for 1st-year students (I: spring semester, II: fall semester). Overall Objectives: In this course, students are expected to develop their overall English language skills while learning about specific topics. The course is called “workshop” because it is a combination of lectures by instructors and activities in which students are actively engaged in interaction with classmates and the material. Topics: The topic of each unit is decided by the individual instructor. Topic examples include “The Science of Habits,” “Art of the Renaissance,” “English through Drama,” “Social Innovation,” “Money Matters,” “Improving Social Skills,” and “Japanese Myths and Legends.”
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Classes will in principle be held live and in person on the Dokkyo University campus. Students of some classes may have the option to attend remotely, through live or recorded Zoom. Course materials will likely be distributed electronically, through manaba, depending on the individual instructor.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students will prepare for classes through review and revision of in-class lecture notes, study of vocabulary, and other associated homework assignments.
