授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The aim of this senmon reading course is to investigate various topics and concepts associated with world issues and cultural heritage. The course will have as its base reading material, which will serve as the foundation for language analysis, topic/content understanding and advanced discussion. Reading material for this course will be provided. Topics such as the history and importance of the famous pyramids of Giza, the terraced rice fields of Bali, or pearl divers of Japan will be covered. | ||||||||||

The course will center on reading provided text, attending to lectures and discussing the topics presented.The reading load for this course will be 10 -15 pages per class. This course will focus on Active Learning principles which include discussions, presentations & debates. This course WILL USE the Manaba Learning Managing System (LMS) to support class activities. Students are required to view Manaba on a regular basis. Students will find important course information on Manaba. READING MATERIAL WILL BE PROVIDED. Please Note Carefully: There is a chance this course will be online in part or in full. We will use ZOOM if it has an online component. | ||||||||||

事前:Students will preview, read, and synthesize the reading material; students will look up vocabulary items and will try to have a solid understanding before class time. 事後:Students will review the reading material for sentence level understanding and for the understanding of the central themes presented both in the material and the lecture. |

Grades are based on the following: in-class performance 50%, quizzes 25%, and a final discussion 25%. |
