授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	□Content The purpose of this course is to allow the students to engage in and explore a variety of current issues in society. □Reading & Discussion ?read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities ?express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively □Writing & Presentations ?write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (600-900 words + bibliography) ?make a visually aided presentation of the paper Class is taught and participated in English.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Due to the corona virus pandemic and the teacher's personal circumstances, this course will be conducted online using manaba. Please check manaba every week for notices. Please don't worry. You will not be overloaded with homework or assignments. A key part of this online seminar is to work diligently for 100 minutes each week. Please note that the syllabus is subject to adjustments and change depending on students' level, interests and progress made.

3	Shopping.	How do you shop? Are you thrifty or a big spender?
4	Financial goals.	Do you have long-term and short-term financial plans?
5	How to manage your money.	What does it mean to financially plan for the future?
6	Charity.	What is charitable giving? Does it always involve money? Should we all give money to charity?
7	How to write a research paper.	Discussion on what makes a research paper.
8	Right to die – Introduction to the topic.	Euthanasia research and discussion.
9	Doctors and euthanasia.	Ethical issues that doctors face when it comes to euthanasia.
10	International comparisons of euthanasia.	Ending life around the world. Research and discussion.
11	Killed against your will.	Can people around you decide ending your life if you are incapacitated?
12	Euthanasia and children.	What are the moral imperatives here? Who decides for terminally ill babies?
13	Oral presentations. Group A	Students to present and watch each others' presentations.
