授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	In this class, we will develop one of your most important English communication skills: speaking. This course will focus on the strategies and key expressions you need to use English in academic settings exploring a range of interesting and provocative topics.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Classwork (and tests) will be based on the textbook and taught (and tested) online through manaba. In the autumn semester, you will study units 11-20. There is a code inside your textbook to hear the textbook audio files and watch the video files.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students are expected to work through the textbook activities to prepare for classes and tests. There is also vocabulary practice at https://quizlet.com/join/VqsqxdVNj to help you improve your English. You do not need to make an account to do the vocabulary practice or report when you did it. You should also use English as much as possible, such as listening to English songs and watching English movies.

評価方法 ／Evaluation	There will be 3 speaking tests and 2 written tests, each worth 20%. The speaking tests should be uploaded as audio (or video) files to the forum thread in manaba. The written tests should be done in the tests section of manaba. All tests are based on the textbook and should be completed by the deadline. Late submissions will have marked deducted the later they are and no assessments will be accepted after the last class. 原則として4 回以上欠席した学生は成績評価対象とならない。In principle, four or more absences will automatically result in a grade of F or X.
