授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives |
This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course |
There is no set textbook for this class. The instructor will bring in articles and other real-world readings for discussion. The first part of the class will be dedicated to communicative activities. We will be reading a longer work of fiction throughout the course. Various tasks will be given, culminating in a final group presentation. More information will be given on the first day of class. | ||||||||||
