授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term, twice-a-week required class helps first-year students learn how to improve their English language communication skills by introducing the organizational skills necessary to become a more competent speaker and writer. Overall Objectives 1. To help students to develop a basic knowledge of the skills required for organizing a speech and developing speech writing skills 2. To give students maximum opportunities to develop their speech delivery and speech writing skills 3. To build student confidence in speech communication in small and larger group contexts |

Lessons (including the first lesson of the semester) will be held face-to-face in the classroom. Students will receive feedback about their presentations orally in class. Peer-to-peer feedback is also an integral aspect of the course. |

This class will be demanding in terms of time spent on individual out-of-class assignments. Students should expect to complete between 30 minutes to one hour of homework each week. Preparing for and practising presentations at home will be vital. | ||||||||||
