授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term required class allows second-year students the opportunity to take the initiative and be directly involved in their own learning, as well as the learning of their classmates, by preparing their own presentation and leading subsequent class discussion based on the chosen topic. Overall Objectives 1. To foster student responsibility by involving students more directly in the learning process 2. To teach students how to prepare presentations 3. To give all students the opportunity to give a presentation and lead class discussion This course focuses on improving students’ "speaking" skills, as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "oral productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
One focus topic/skill will be studied each week. The first part of each class will be used for introduction, explanation and exploration. This will be followed by relevant application of skills to tasks. Note that the teaching method, material covered, and evaluation may change due to the demands of the ongoing health situation. Updated and more detailed information will be provided in the first class. Feedback will be provided by a score and comments for each written and/or presentation assignment given during the course. Must have a PC with access to the internet, Microsoft Word and Zoom for every lesson throughout the course. |

Students should prepare before each lesson by completing assigned homework / tasks (30-60 minutes). Students should review lesson notes after each lesson and ensure all classwork is complete (30-60 minutes). | ||||||||||
