授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The goal of this course is to learn to use language and communication skills for persuading and influencing others about current topics that affect society. A secondary goal is to improve reading comprehension and analysis of those current topics. The class will also emphasize developing persuasive presentation skills. It will build on skills developed in the first semester. Most of class time will be devoted to the discussion of reading materials. Students will be expected to be active and participate in a variety of speaking situations—in pairs, small groups, with the teacher, and before the class. Once during the semester, each student will have to lead a small group discussion. Students will also give one multimedia debate-style presentation to the class. |
