授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This course is designed to improve writing skills. The unifying concept is “creative writing”. The students develop their writing process with a degree of autonomy. The students write essays, letters, poems, creative non-fiction, or fiction based on their choice of medium to express ideas concerning various topics on a bi-weekly basis. There will be an emphasis on providing and taking feedback from peers. Development of writing will be explored through revisions based on feedback. There will also be a final report to reflect the development of skills. The focus of the class is to develop writing forms and expression of ideas in natural English. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
This class is designed to influence learner autonomy. The material should be examined before writing starts. Students are encouraged to self-direct by developing the focus of their essays or individual writing styles. The students not only practice with their chosen forms of writing but also give scores reflecting personal evaluations of their own work. Reading the work of other classmates and providing feedback through workshops is also important. Classes are planned to be face to face from the first session, so please attend class on the first day in the classroom. |
