授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The purpose of this course is to help students improve their English language skills of reading. Through extensive reading, students are expected not only to increase English vocabulary and to grasp simply the meaning of the text, but also to read aloud, to predict the context before reading, and to recognise patterns in paragraphs and of text orgnisation. | ||||||||||

Basically, this course is conducted in English but explained in Japanese where necessary. In order to learn correct, natural and real English, the students are strongly recommended to use an English-English dictionary. Note: This course syllabus might be changed if needed after starting. Generally, this classes will be conducted face-to-face, but from the perspective of infectious disease control, on-demand delivery-type classes would also be used partly. For the moment, the first class will be held face-to-face in the classroom, but depending on the spread of infectious diseases, we might switch to the on-demand delivery type. In that case, you will be notified through manaba, so check the information at least the day before the first class. |

Final grade will be based on the following: 30% Participation and Preparedness for class; 30% Quizzes and Writing Assignments; and 40% Mid-term and Final Examinations. |
