授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term required class teaches second-year students how to speak and  listen more effectively　and then presents them with the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions successfully　in group and class discussions while working with topical subjects. Overall Objectives 1. To teach students the skills involved in effective group discussion 2. To improve listening comprehension skills using topical listening material 3. To develop verbal reasoning skills together with the ability and opportunity to　communicate their thoughts related to the topics and readings provided
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Class 1 - 14 : Online zoom discussion ( 30 minutes). Materials including Zoom invitation will be sent a few days before the class to your email address Discussion  team work in pairs for 10 minutes, discussing the topic , changing 3 times per Zoom session of 30 minutes Vocabulary quiz (complete before class at home) Reading article (read before class at home, and highlight the key points)
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Before class: read the discussion questions, and think of your ideas . Complete the vocabulary quiz sheet; read the topic article. Make notes on the key points of the article to help you discuss that week's topic 45 minutes After class : review the vocabulary sheets, make note of new words you don't know, write them in a vocabulary book. Write the sentence they appear in the article you receive after class. Re-read the vocabulary items to help retain the new knowledge. Time : 30 minutes
