授業の目的?内容
/Course Objectives
The course provides an overview of what constitutes second language acquisition research by considering the earliest stages of research to ethical research practices and research methods and design in the spring term.  In the fall term the course looks at the application of practices studied in the spring to consider research conducted in the language learning classroom and the development of theories of language learning.

Students will read research articles to help them to understand how to organise and present research through the formulation of research questions, the collection and analysis of data, and ultimately the development of theory through the interpretation of the results
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
The course is conducted as a discussion based seminar where students will consider the research articles and assigned readings from the texts in information sharing activities and presentations. In the event of having to return to remote learning, the on-line component of the course will require students to participate in Zoom classes and collaborative writing projects on using Google Doc files.
事前?事後学修の内容
/Before After Study
Students are expected to prepare for the sessions by having done the readings and required preparation for any discussion or presentations.  Writing academic outlines and preparing writing assignments will also factor heavily in the course.
