授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This course provides an introduction to writing up research at postgraduate level. The first semester will concentrate on developing a critical stance when writing a literature review. Students will write a critical review of a research paper or book at the end of the semester. In the second semester, the focus is on the structure of a research report and the elements therein. This course provides an introduction to writing up research at postgraduate level. The second semester will introduce the language and skills needed for the different sections of a research report and students will draft and re-draft a report on their research. | ||||||||||

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
Through a combination of teacher PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, written and oral tasks, this course develops and gives practice in the strategies, language and skills required to critically read, respond to both orally and in writing, and write research papers in English. This class will be conducted face-to-face so please come prepared for social distancing on the first day. Tasks, materials and assignments will be posted on Manaba each week so if you miss class for some reason you can keep up. |

Students will spend about two hours reading materials assigned for tasks undertaken in class and completing them. I expect students to begin researching materials on their topic. Writing assignments must be corrected after feedback and be resubmitted. |
