授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution This course focuses on improving students’ "listening" and "speaking," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "oral receptive skills and productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
This class will be conducted face to face on campus. The first half of the textbook will be used in the spring semester and the latter half in the fall semester. Student participation is required in this class. Students are expected to participate actively in group discussions and pair activities. Students are responsible for submitting assignments on time. Students will receive written and verbal feedback for their homework and presentations. | ||||||||||
