授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term, twice-a-week required class helps first-year students to learn how to improve their English language communication skills by introducing the organizational skills necessary to become a more competent public-speaker and writer Overall Objectives 1. To help students develop a basic knowledge of the skills required for creating presentations 2. To give students maximum opportunities to develop their writing and presentation delivery skills 3. To build student confidence in speech communication from small to larger group contexts This course focuses on improving students’ "listening" and "speaking" skills and their "competence to think critically in English as well as hold discussions in English, without using Japanese," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "oral receptive skills and productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

Communicative classes that will be face-to-face unless otherwise specified or necessary - online classes held via Zoom and Manaba Whether face-to-face or online, students need to interact with each other in both pair- and group-work through a variety of communicative tasks and activities Course textbook: flipped preparation for in-class discussions and short speeches Feedback will be given verbally or with rubrics in-class, and out-of-class via Manaba forum threads or Manaba Assignments |
