授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This one-term required class teaches second-year students how to read more effectively and then presents them with the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions successfully in group and class discussions while working with topical subjects. Overall Objectives 1. To teach students the skills involved in effective group discussion 2. To improve reading comprehension skills using topical reading material 3. To develop verbal reasoning skills together with the ability and opportunity to communicate their thoughts related to the topics and readings provided |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
The Instructor will use the Lecture method of instruction followed by student interaction. The Instructor would like for this course to be learner centered and facilitate this interaction among the students. One chapter from the text will be studied each week. The first part of each class will be used for reading and analysis of the text material. This will be followed by reviewing and checking the homework assignments together. The Instructor will give verbal feedback and written feedback for grading. For the remainder of the class students will be given an in-class exercise to complete. Note that the teaching method, text material covered, and assessment style may change du e to the demands of the ongoing health situation. Updated and more detailed information will be provided in the first class. | ||||||||||
