授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
International migration is one of the central subjects in the academic discipline of global studies. By examining this particular subject from various perspectives, the course attempts to understand international migration, which serves as an essential factor in explaining and understanding the phenomenon of globalization today. In the spring semester, the focus will be placed on the theoretical understanding of international migration, along with some pertaining issues. Each class will be conducted using the textbook indicated below. Students are expected to be able to summarize designated paragraphs from the textbook and also engage in discussions based on various topics related to the subject suggested by the instructor. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
This course is taught in English. It is an ideal course for students who wish to learn the essential aspects of global studies in English. Students are required to purchase the textbook before the first class from stores such as the university bookstore DUO. Feedbacks will be given verbally and or in writing whenever deemed necessary. Porta II and University Web-Mail System will be used as the essential tools of communication. Students are expected to prepare an appropriate Internet environment to use these tools constantly. Including the first class, classes will be conducted in a face-to-face environment only. Furthermore, lectures will not be recorded.
