/Course Objectives
Overall Objectives
1. To provide an overview of what constitutes a ‘good’ paragraph
2. To learn how to properly format a typed paragraph
3. To help students write about themselves and their experiences
4. To help students write clear, coherent and properly-structured paragraphs
5. To help students analyze and revise their writing
6. To help students become familiar with computer literacy and the use of Microsoft Word or
Googledocs to create well-formatted documents.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
Students will be asked to:
a) re-write example English sentences (containing errors), as modern, correct English sentences.
b) write sentences about various topics.
c) write properly-oraganized English paragraphs about a variety of topics.
d) write properly arranged English paragraphs about various topics, using correct methods of citing/references research sources.
e) produce various 'drafts' [versions] of paragraphs//reports; and also produce 'second drafts', 'third drafts', etc.
f) Actively participate in class activities/discussion and group writing tasks.

*Feedback
Students will receive individual feedback from the teacher (each and every class). The teacher will (through oral and written means) critique the students' written work, pointing out the strong points and areas that need improvement.
In addition, students will participate in peer-critique in order to develop skills to become critical readers and to give constructive criticism to their classmates.

It is expected that students devote a total of 2 to 4 hours to the weekly writings and textbook exercises.
