授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
Students continue to practice writing unified, coherent paragraphs, which are the basic units of composition common to academic, business, professional, and general-purpose writing in English. Developing fluency and well-structured paragraphs is the main focus of this course However, students in Group C should also practice writing for accuracy at the same time. Overall Objectives 1. To teach the various patterns of paragraph /short essay organization 2. To help students learn how others organize ideas through peer review 3. To help students write clear, focused, and well organized paragraphs 4. To help students analyze their problems and revise their writing 5. To help students become familiar with computer literacy This course focuses on improving students’ "vocabulary," "grammar" and "writing" skills, as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for students to acquire the basics of "written productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
In first half hour of each class students will do free journal writing for fluency building. This will be followed by a lesson addressing an aspect of academic writing. Following the lesson, students will work on practice exercises and complete in-class assignments. Feedback will take place in comments and notes on Google docs, and in short teacher-student conferences. Note that the teaching method, text material covered, and assessment style may change due to the demand of the ongoing health situation. Updated and more detailed information will be provided in the first class. All classes will be held on campus in face to face classroom meetings. |

After each class there will be an assignment to complete during the week. This will take between 1-2 hours, depending on how much the student completed during class writing time. | ||||||||||
