授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
Students continue to practice writing unified, coherent paragraphs, which are the basic units of composition common to academic, business, professional, and general-purpose writing in English. Developing fluency and well-structured paragraphs is the main focus of this course However, students in Group C should also practice writing for accuracy at the same time. Overall Objectives 1. To teach the various patterns of paragraph /short essay organization 2. To help students learn how others organize ideas through peer review 3. To help students write clear, focused, and well-organized paragraphs 4. To help students analyze their problems and revise their writing 5. To encourage students to participate effectively |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
―Students will be asked to: a) re-write example English sentences (containing errors), as modern, correct English sentences. b) write sentences about various topics. c) write properly-oragnized English paragraphs about a variety of topics. d) write properly-arranged English essays/reports about various topics, using correct methods of citing/references research sources. e) produce various 'drafts' [versions] of paragraphs/essays/reports; and also produce 'second drafts', 'third drafts', etc. F) to actively participate in class discussion and team writing. *Feedback Students will receive individual feedback from the teacher (each and every class). The teacher will (through oral and written means) critique the students' written work, pointing out the strong points and areas that need improvement. In addition, students will participate in peer-critique in order to develop skills to become critical readers and to give constructive criticism to their classmates. |

The students will be expected to organize and review their lecture notes after class, and to look up and confirm the meaning of any words or terminology they may not completely understand. |

Your assessment will be based on: how well you write/edit/re-write/submit written assignments; how well you participate in class; how well you elaborate (explain) in English sentences/paragraphs; the ways in which you reason (think).
