授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The goal in the Writing Skills III course is to develop students’ writing and critical thinking abilities in English, progressing from production of shorter to longer academic texts, and from writing on familiar topics to writing about more complex and academic ones. Overall Objectives 1. To provide an overview of what constitutes a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand various patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students revise and edit their essays 5. To help students use a variety of sources 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To introduce the basics of referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) This course focuses on improving students’ "vocabulary," "grammar" and "writing" skills, as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "written productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
This course will be conducted face to face on campus. The first half of the textbook will be used in the spring semester and the second half of the textbook in the fall semester. We will spend 2 weeks for each chapter. Feedback on assignments will be given through written comments and interviews with the teacher. Students will keep a notebook with all written assigments, comments from the teacher, revisions and quizzes. | ||||||||||
