授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
Each week will focus on an aspect of writing (such as basic paragraph construction) that will help develop basic writing skills with a view to writing short mid-term and final term essays. Classes are usually organized around group-work and students are expected to work together to discuss and solve tasks related to writing skills. Tasks will include learning how plan and construct topic sentences, understanding how to plan and brainstorm supporting sentences for paragraph construction, and an introduction to useful connecting words and phrases to make paragraphs more coherent. Students will be required to prepare short homework assignments to prepare for the following weeks’ classes. Depending on circumstances, classes may be conducted on Zoom and recorded and uploaded to manaba every week. The class content and teaching methods will be exactly the same as a regular campus based class. Students will be notified ahead of time if classes will be on Zoom or face-to-face.

Sharing the answers to homework assignments will form part of group-work activities at the beginning of class. Model answers provided after discussion activities should also be used for reference and review outside of class.
