授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To help students become more familiar with referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) This course focuses on improving students’ "vocabulary," "grammar" and "writing" skills, as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "written productive skills," as stated in the CP. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
One focus topic/skill will be studied each week. The first part of each class will be used for introduction, explanation and exploration. This will be followed by relevant application of skills to tasks. Note that the teaching method, material covered, and evaluation may change due to the demands of the ongoing health situation. Updated and more detailed information will be provided in the first class. Feedback will be provided by a score and comments for each written and/or presentation assignment given during the course. |
