授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
a) To give students the opportunity to discuss & analyze issues related to growing up & education in a different culture/period b) To expose students to everyday spoken English through the films’ dialogue & weekly pair work practice The Spring Term is based on 2 recent films that explore the subject of the importance of education. 'The Dead Poets' Society' is set in a boarding school in New England during the 1950s and looks at how the unconventional & inspirational methods of the new literature teacher influences his young students, sometimes with tragic consequences. 'The Emperor's Club' is also based on the career of a teacher at a boys' boarding school in America in the 1970s and how he is affected by one particular challenging student, and how the changing times of the era almost destroys his career. |
