授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This course will look into social issues such as poverty, environmental protection, and gender roles through listening to popular music, discussions, and reading related articles. The two main goals of the course are to raise awareness about social matters and world events that influence cultures and to further prepare students for communicating in an increasingly global society.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	The lessons will be constructed in three parts: 1) a preview of topics, 2) input of the main ideas through reading & sharing materials, and 3) class discussions, formal presentations, and possible debates. The course aims at promoting independent learning, for which students are expected to conduct research and explore social issues every week in order to deepen their understanding of the modern world. The course will be taught mainly in class however, depending on the teacher's health, it might have some zoom lessons. The recordings of the class will not be shared with students.
