授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
Japanese Art History This course will focus on the history and culture of Japanese art with emphasis on Edo-period painting. To accommodate each lecture, and to aid students in gaining an understanding of the principal styles and characteristics of paintings, numerous slides will be shown featuring examples of representative works. Supplemental readings and associated exercises will be provided to ensure comprehension of specialized terms and to facilitate an understanding of the historical and cultural context. By the completion of the course, students will be able to identify and distinguish principal painting styles and their features and to convey this understanding in an articulate and informed manner. This course focuses on improving students' "listening" and "reading" skills and their "competence to think critically in English," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are "to obtain a comprehensive English proficiency," as stated in the CP. |
