授業の目的?内容
/Course Objectives
This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students and takes place once a week. The goal of the course is to give students ample opportunities to practice participating in class, contributing to group discussions, and utilizing overall communication skills. The course will help students to develop the essential skills to be successful in CLIL based classes. Students will be encouraged to participate in discussions in various capacities based on the reading materials. By integrating language learning with content, students will develop a deeper understanding of both language and different areas of study.
Overall Objectives
1. To give students experience participating and expressing their ideas in class.
2. To give students experience expressing themselves using content-based materials.
3. Understand and communicate effectively about specific academic content using
appropriate language.
4. Foster collaborative skills through group discussions and conversations.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
This class is designed to be a very student centered/interactive class with students discussing and debating various topics. New vocabulary and grammar will be routinely introduced to enable students to articulate ideas more clearly and to facilitate discussion. Students will be expected to work in pairs and groups, and presentations will be incorporated into class activities.

/Before After Study
The students will also be expected to thoroughly review all material covered from the previous classes, such as vocabulary, grammar, and reading related information,of each class. It is expected that students devote a total of 2 to 4 hours to the weekly vocabulary review and general prep time for debates and presentations..
