This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students and takes place once a week. The goal of the course is to give students ample opportunities to practice participating in class, contributing to group discussions, and utilizing overall communication skills. 2. To give students experience expressing themselves using content-based materials.
3. Understand and communicate effectively about specific academic content using
appropriate language.
4. Foster collaborative skills through group discussions and conversations.

This course focuses on improving students’ "listening" and "speaking," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "oral receptive skills and productive skills," as stated in the CP.
