授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This course focusses on improving students' reading and writing skills specifically with regards to vocabulary, grammar and developing active reading strategies to allow students to engage with a text. The aim is for students to understand how argumentative (or persuasive) texts are structured and learn the fundamentals of English essay writing.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	We will analyse the structure and practise writing argumentative essays. Students will write two essays during the semester. Students will submit a first draft and a final copy of each essay. Students will be given written and/or verbal feedback for both draft copies and final copies of their essays.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students will be expected to not only acquire vocabulary and expressions but also find and analyse information from various forms of English media independently and complete weekly homework assignments.
