This course focuses on students’ "listening" and "speaking" skills and their "competence to think critically in English as well as hold discussions in English, without using Japanese," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for students "to obtain comprehensive English proficiency" and "to engage in logical discussions using English," as stated in the CP | ||||||||||

This elective lecture course will be conducted face-to-face. The content of the classes may alter from the syllabus depending upon the progress of the class. Feedback will be provided either face-to-face in class or through manaba, depending on the circumstances at the time. |

Students will be expected to research and prepare materials before class and review after class. For example: Preparing accounts of personal experiences for other students. (1-2 hours) Researching and adapting articles for other students. (2 hours) Researching and preparing materials and activities for class discussions. (2 hours) Researching and preparing presentation materials (2-4 hours) Reviewing and evauating individual class and overall course content (1-2 hours) |
