授業の目的?内容
/Course Objectives
□Content
In this course, students are expected to develop their intercultural awareness by learning various issues including intercultural diversity in peoples and places, consumerism, food culture, and inbound and outbound tourism.

□Listening, Reading & Discussion
?read and understand important concepts and theories related to language and culture  
?discuss opinions/positions on topics covered in the materials constructively in pairs/groups
?read academic journals or other reliable references for essay writing

□Writing & Presentations
?write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (600-900 words + bibliography)
?make a visually aided presentation of the paper

The medium of instruction is English.

/Teaching method and Attention the course
- In principle, this course is conducted face-to-face.
- This is a student-centered course; students will be asked to make a summary presentation and lead a whole/group discussion as facilitators. The details will be explained in the first class.

Before Study: read the assigned readings, complete all the tasks in the textbook, prepare for presentations or read supplementary materials related to the topic covered

After Study: Review the class content, read references for essay writing, write an essay draft and revise it
