授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
In this class, we will develop one of your most important English communication skills: speaking. This course will focus on the strategies and key expressions you need to use English in academic settings. Class time will be spent on speaking activities to help you build confidence as a speaker of English. 経済学部クラス指定科目です。この科目では、英語コミュニケーションの基本となるスピーキングを学びます。大学生として必要なコミュニケーションの方略(ストラテジー)に注目し、スムーズに会話ができるように学び、また、会話に必要な語彙も学びます。練習を重ねることで、自信もつき、より滑らかに話せるようになります。また、リスニングの力もつきます。 評価は、中間テスト、期末テスト、スピーキングテスト、授業への積極的な参加および宿題に基づいて出されます。 |

Class methods will include various group work and pair work activities. These may include any of the following: • Role play and language games • Timed conversations on textbook topics • Individual and/or small group presentations • Oral language learning histories or journals • Recording students’ conversations / role plays on video for self‐reflection and self‐ and peer‐evaluation • Creating dialogues using key expressions, vocabulary, and speaking strategies mined from their textbooks • Interviews and information gap activities • Discussions and debates Feedback will be provided for all assignments and evaluations in class. |

Outside of class time, students are expected to spend approximately one hour per week preparing for in-class activities and evaluations, and completing homework. | ||||||||||

Classroom participation/homework 30% Mid-term exam 20% In-class speaking evaluation 20% Final exam 30% 原則として4回以上欠席した学生は成績評価対象とならない。 In principle, four or more absences will automatically result in a grade of F. |
