授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
アメリカを代表する詩人の一人Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) の作品をHelen Vendlerが編纂し、解釈を付したテキストを中心に読む。授業は毎回レポーターを決め、プリゼンテーションのあと、ディスカッションを行う。 授業の狙いは、 “less is more” の言語感覚で、独自な詩の世界を創造したディキンスンの言葉の力を分析すること、そして彼女のポエジーを楽しむことにある。これまでの英語学習のマッサージになるようなる授業を心がけたい。詩の初心者も歓迎する。 この科目は、外国語学研究科博士前期課程の学位授与方針(DP)ならびに教育課程の編成?実施方針(CP)が示す「実践的な言語運用能力と国際社会の多様性を理解する態度」と「文学分野において、適切な問題設定を行い、必要な先行研究の成果やデータ収集?分析ができる能力」、とりわけ英米文学研究分野におけるこれらの能力を高めることを目的とする。 |
