授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This course will build on the skills developed during the first semester. This class is conducted in English so students will practice speaking, listening and the use of visuals in English, but the focus of the course is on reading and writing skill development.. Improvement of reading skills and strategies will provide students with new perspectives and knowledge that can be used as content for their writing. The writing skill development will review paragraph writing and then focus on essay writing. There will also be an introduction to APA citation and reference skills and opportunities to practice these skills which be  very important for students in their second year courses.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This is a student-centered class and students will gradually develop confidence as they learn to work in pairs and groups on tasks set by the instructor. These tasks will be based on  the second part of the textbook and reading skill development materials and essay writing materials provided by the instructor. There will be in class reading, writing and discussion tasks and follow up writing tasks and essay assignments. Students are expected to revise and submit their writing tasks and assignments after receiving feedback.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students are expected to work on acquiring the vocabulary introduced in class and review the materials. If preparation for the next class is assigned students are expected to do it as instructed. Students should use feedback to improve and review writing assignments.
