授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
The goal in the writing skills 4 course is to further develop students` writing and critical thinking abilities in English, progressing from production of shorter to longer academic texts, and from writing on familiar topics to writing about more complex and academic ones. 1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To help students become more familiar with referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
Each unit of the textbook will take several weeks to complete. Students will have a shorter writing task each week. Classroom time will be split between textbook activities and reviewing our weekly writing assignments. There will be a longer in-class writing project at the completion of each unit in the book. We will complete three units by the end of this course. | ||||||||||
