授業の目的?内容
/Course Objectives
This course is a required course for all 2nd year students.  This is a continuation of spring semester.

This course aims to help students further develop their English language fluency and builds on the skills acquired in the Round Table Discussion class for first-year students. It also focuses on enhancing students' presentation skills through weekly warm-up activities and more formal class presentations. A theme-based course text, emphasizing reading and critical thinking, serves as the foundation for the course and provides the basis for student presentations. Class size is limited to 12 students, and both students and the instructor will sit in a circle to foster meaningful and authentic communication.  This class is fully conducted in English.

/Teaching method and Attention the course
This course is conducted in English.  Students will present their warm-up topics in groups of three or four and have a short discussions based on their presentations.  The text-book will serve as the foundation for this class.  It will also serve as a spring board to class presentations.  Students will expand the ideas and themes in the text and give individual or group presentations.  
事前?事後学修の内容
/Before After Study
Students need to 1) prepare a warm-up topic, 2) complete all assigned reading and critical thinking tasks from the course text and 3) complete all additional assignments from their respective instructor.  Importantly, students need to carefully consider the topics and ideas presented in the textbook in order to have meaningful discussions in class and to create engaging presentations.  Students are encourage 1) to maintain a vocabulary notebook and 2) to read extensively.     .

/Evaluation
Each individual instructor will provide a specific overview of their own evaluation criteria.  Class participation,
presentations, completion of all assigned task will be evaluated.    It is most important for students to
complete all assignments, deliver well-prepared presentations, and to be enthusiastic in each class.
