授業の目的?内容 /Course Objectives |
This course is a subject of "Microeconomics" in order to acquire "expertise in economics" indicated by DP and CP of the Faculty of Economics. This class provides an introduction to basic economic concepts, and is taught in English. The class is divided into two parts: first, we will cover basic macroeconomic concepts such as GDP, unemployment, economic growth. Then, the class will tackle microeconomic concepts such as demand, supply, equilibrium and market failures. The objective of this class is to allow students to familiarize themselves with English economic vocabulary , and be able to read economic literature in English in the future. |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 /Teaching method and Attention the course |
This course will be conducted in-person. First, we will briefly review the contents of the previous week, and explain the answers of the previous week's exercises. Then, we will move on to the week's main topic. At the end of the class, 10min will be devoted to individual Q&A session, to clarify the week's topic or for students with questions on the assignment. | ||||||||||
事前?事後学修の内容 /Before After Study |
Before the class (2h/week): Students are expected to complete exercises at home. Exercises will be available on manaba. Students are encouraged to review the class materials (available on manaba) of the previous week before solving the exercises. To prepare for the next class, students are also encouraged to read the relevant chapter in the textbook. After the class (2h/week): Students are encouraged to memorize the new vocabulary encountered in the session, and review the class materials. |
