/Course Objectives
□Content
The purpose of this course is to allow the students to engage in and explore a variety of current issues in society

□Reading & Discussion
?read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities
?express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively

□Writing & Presentations
?write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (700-1,000 words + bibliography)
?make a visually aided presentation of the paper

Class is taught and participated in English.

/Teaching method and Attention the course
This is a dynamic class, and the students are expected to communicate in English at all times. There will be plenty of opportunities for discussion through pair and group work. All teaching handouts will be available on manaba. Students, therefore, must be sure to have printed out all the relevant handouts beforehand and remember to bring them to each class. Please note that the syllabus is subject to adjustments and change depending on students' level, interests and progress made.

5 Same-sex marriage and surrogacy. Discussion on the same-sex marriage and surrogacy.
6 How to write a research paper. Intensive class on what makes a research paper.
7 Work-Life Balance. Introduction to the topic. The first look into the concept.
8 Why does stress occur? Analyzing the nature of stress.
9 How to reduce stress. Exploring what can be done to enrich your life.
10 Money Management. – Introduction to the topic. Introduction to the issues of money management.
11 What is financial planning? Learn about the basics of financial planning.
12 Good or bad money management? Discussion on what is the most preferable way of spending money.
13 Oral presentation A. The first group of students present their final research papers.
14 Oral presentation B. Another group of students give presentations on their final research papers.
